A bowl of fruit is a common subject in the still life genre of art history. It has been a take off point for much innovation and experimentation.
I find it exciting to work with a subject that has been studied and interpreted by so many people over the course of hundreds of years.
Here I've stripped it right down to the bare essentials. The fruit, empty, colorless, becomes a subtle post modern statement. An optimist might see a "tabula rasa" ripe with potential!
